Girl in bid to be teen queen

A TEENAGER has reached the final 50 in a national contest to find Miss Teen Queen 2009.

Louisa Warwick, 16, from Hursley near Winchester, was originally one of more than 5,000 hopefuls.

The beauty contest, which is open to young women aged 16 to 19, will be decided by a public phone poll.

The St Swithuns School pupil hopes to reach the grand final later this year. The winner will attend an international beauty pageant and receive a modelling contract.

She said: “I entered last November. I thought it would be a bit of fun and, to be honest, I didn’t really think anything would come of it.

“Although it would be my absolute dream to make it to the finals, I’m thrilled about getting this far.

“As I’m representing Winchester, and the only entry from Hampshire, I would love local people to show their support and vote for me.”

To vote for her, text ‘louisa warwick’ to 84205 or call 0901 656 1515 and select option 34. Each entry costs 60 pence, and polls close at 11.30pm on Friday, July 31.
