ST MARY’S will host some of the 2015 Rugby World Cup matches, after England was chosen to stage the event.
The International Rugby Board announced their decision this afternoon, with England beating off competition from South Africa and Italy.
As exclusively revealed by the Daily Echo in May, St Mary’s was on the list of stadiums that would hold matches if England’s bid was successful.
Saints’ home will now be one of 12 used for the tournament and will host south region pool matches in the 2015 event.
