Neighbours alerted police to an illegal set-up after complaining about excessive noise and offensive language coming from those inside the property.

The Daily Echo understands that the home-made pub was set up by a former employee of a nearby pub, to lure customers away from his ex-employer.

Safer Neighbourhood teams from Eastleigh joined forces with Eastleigh Borough Council to execute the licensing warrant on October 1.

An inspection was made of the premises under the Licensing Act.

Officers spoke to those at the address but no arrests have yet been made, although several items were seized to help police with their continuing investigations.

Safer Streets Sergeant Georgina White said: “Upon entering the premises we found a substantial bar set up in the rear garden with fully working pumps and used beer kegs.”
