ARTWORK commissioned by Sixties legends The Who is to auctioned off today by its Hampshire owner.
As revealed by the Daily Echo in the summer, twenty-five paintings of the group, ordered by guitarist Pete Townshend and singer Roger Daltrey, will go up for sale on a global internet auction site with a reserve price of £165,000.
The collection was left to Hampshire man Paul Kelly by the artist, his best friend John Davis who was killed in a car crash three years ago.
Mr Davis was commissioned to produce the paintings for a book, A Decade of The Who.
Mr Kelly, 45, from Hedge End, says there has already been interest from as far afield as New Zealand.
