HIS slick detective work uncovering crimes is muchloved by television viewers.
But from Friday, his dulcet tones can be heard unravelling the wonders of a major Winchester attraction.
David Suchet famous for his role as Agatha Christie’s detective Hercule Poirot, has recorded an audio guide for Winchester Cathedral.
“The audio guide is another way in which we are providing choice to our visitors about how they come to know our cathedral, which is both a national monument and a living place of worship,” said Canon Roly Riem, chancellor and pastor at the cathedral.
“The commentary gives a good feeling for its long history and rooted spirituality.”
The guide, which costs £3 and is currently only available in English, will be launched tomorrow by Mary Fagan, Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, and the Dean of Winchester, The Very Rev James Atwell.
