AN elderly cyclist is fighting for his life following a collision with a car in Southampton yesterday.
The 71-year-old was cycling along Kingsway when he was involved in a collision with a grey Seat Ibiza near the pedestrian crossing, close to the junction with Houndwell Place, at 6.50pm.
The cyclist was rushed to Southampton General Hospital suffering life threatening injuries.
The driver, a 35-year-old man from Southampton, was not injured.
Police are appealing for information from anyone who witnessed the collision or who has information to contact Totton Roads Policing Unit on 101 or by using the anonymous Crimestoppers charity line 0800 555 111
