POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a digger was stolen from a building site in St Mary Bourne.

Between 4pm on Tuesday, November 10, and 8.40am the next day, a grey Takeuchi digger was stolen from a building site at Upper Link.

Police believe that the vehicle was driven off the site and on to the main road through some hedges and a dried-up stream.

PC Christian Geldard, of the Whitchurch Targeted Patrol Team, said: “The building site is on a busy road and someone may have witnessed the theft or seen someone suspicious in the area.

“We would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact us as soon as possible.”
