POLICE have closed a major route through a Hampshire estate after it was declared too dangerous to pass.
Meggason Avenue in Townhill Park was closed and residents were advised not to got out unless absolutely vital.
Hampshire police were also inundated with reports of icy roads around the estate, effectively making it a no-go zone.
Like the rest of the city bus routes were suspended.
The estate was thought to have been badly affected due to the hilly roads and the fact Townhill Park is one of the highest points in the city.
Gritting lorries were sent back out to the estate this morning.
