FIREFIGHTERS spent around four hours tackling a fire on the Isle of Wight this morning caused by a woodburning stove.
The fire destroyed the roof of the a house in Marsh Road in Gurnard near Cowes and the rest of the house was damaged by smoke and water.
Firefighters were called to the house shortly after 2.20am and tackled the blaze until 6.20am.
It is not known how many people were in the house at the time.
