A SCHEME to extend a Romsey GPs’ surgery has been given the green light. Test Valley’s southern area planning committee unanimously backed proposals to provide three new consulting rooms and a research room at the Nightingale Surgery at Great Well Drive.
Objectors’ concerns about the lack of on-site parking and fears the project would generate more traffic were dismissed by the committee.
Romsey Town Council objected to the scheme on the grounds that the proposed extension plans did not match the existing building.
Dr Peter White a GP at the surgery told the committee over 9,000 patients were registered at the practice which opened 30 years ago.
