It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before. The snow just has not stopped falling in Hedge End.
As I stepped out in my wellies and five layers of clothing I couldn’t quite believe what I was seeing. It was like stepping into a scene from Narnia.
An eerie silence descended, with only a few tyre tracks heading away from driveways to signal any sign of life.
But by 10am, that silence was broken by the shrieks of excitement from youngsters running out into the snow.
Gradually more and more children and their parents have braved the freezing temperatures to make the most of their time off school.
Sledging hotspots have cropped up across the neighbourhoods, with more and more joining in on the fun, arming themselves with snowballs.
Everywhere you look there are half built snowmen ready to be completed, while confused dogs are trying desperately to work out what all this white stuff is.
But in amongst all the fun, council workers carried on with their work, planting trees on the new Wellstead development - a reminder that not everyone is happy about the downfall.
