A CANNABIS factory with 172 plants has been uncovered by police.

A Hampshire garage had been converted into a drug production line complete with sophisticated lighting, heating, ventilation and two specialised growing rooms.

The plants seized from Priory Road, Elson, Gosport, ranged from three inches to six foot in height.

Police have arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of cultivating and possession of a Class B drug.

He has been bailed until April.
