HAMPSHIRE celebrity Miranda Hart was feeling the pain from the Sport Relief Million Pound Bike Ride, describing the last 20 minutes of one of her spells on the bike as “hell”.

Now moving on to day three of the challenge, comedienne Miranda and the team of celebrities, captained by Little Britain star David Walliams, were over the halfway point.

The team of seven are attempting to cycle 1,000 miles in four days, travelling the length of Britain from John O’Groats to Lands End in a bid to raise £1m for Sport Relief.

Speaking on her video diary after day one, Miranda said: “You find with exercise when your not used to it you’re permanently hungry. I’m surrounded by bananas.”

She added: “This is all a bit of a steep learning curve for me on the bike but hopefully my legs will hold me up.”

The Daily Echo has teamed up with Sport Relief this year to give away more than £62,000 in grants to community organisations and charities in Southampton.

There are just a few days left to apply for the Daily Echo and Sport Relief Community Cash Fund with grants of between £500 and £1000 to give away.
