A HAMPSHIRE man has been given a four-month jail sentence after being caught with more than 4,000 indecent images of children.
Frederick Gardner, 67, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to two charges of making child pornography after the images were found on his computer.
Winchester Crown Court heard that 360,000 images were discovered on his computer but the prosecution had looked at only 4,000. But it was agreed that the 4,000 photos were ‘representative’ of the total amount. The pictures were said to be level one, the least serious on a one to five scale.
Sentencing him Judge Andrew Barnett, said: “You pleaded guilty to two further matters of sexual offending and those matters were making indecent photographs of a child.
“ I recently sentenced you to four and a half years and today I will sentence you to two four month terms to run concurrently.”
Gardner, who had previously been sentenced for five matters for sexual behaviour with young people, was also banned from using any computers without monitoring software fitted by Hampshire police.
He will remain on the sexual offender’s register indefinitely.
