SUNDAY marked the first anniversary of the death of popular teenager Jamie Gentleman.

The Andover 13-year-old died unexpectedly from a cardiac arrest on March 14, 2009, a week before his 14th birthday.

He was a well-loved boy who was captain of the Upper Clatford Under-14s football team.

As a way of celebrating his life his family set up The Jamie G Sporting Trust which aims to raise money to help local sporting organisations for young people.

To mark his birthday a special grant-giving party has been planned tonight at The Wolversdene Club where various clubs will be handed sums of money.
