Pedalling for Piam

ARMED only with pedal power and dogged determination, a team of cyclists are saddling up to tackle the country’s most ambitious off-road ride.

The brave group of 11 friends from Southampton are daring to attempt the notorious Sarn Helen Trail, a 270-mile cycle across Wales this weekend, raising money for Southampton Hospital Charity’s Piam Brown Ward Fund.

They hope to seven-day endurance challenge, will raise £20,000 for the children’s cancer unit where team leader, Stephen Collins’ daughter Emily received specialist care.

Emily was diagnosed with an osteosarcoma on her left knee when she was 16-years-old and was able to make a remarkable recovery thanks to the care she received.
