Police cordon off Southampton home following discovery of body

POLICE sealed off a house last night after a pensioner was found on the ground outside with serious head injuries.

The man in his 80's was discovered on the pavement outside a home in Wilton Road, Southampton, around 5.10pm.

Paramedics were called to the scene and took the man to Southampton General Hospital where he later died.

The property was sealed off by police and an officer was stood guard late into the evening.

Hampshire police this morning confirmed that they were not treating the man's death as suspicious and the cordon had been lifted.

A file is now being prepared for the coroner.
