BOOKMAKERS have suspended betting on Nigel Adkins being the next Saints manager.
Victor Chandler yesterday cut the odds on Scunthorpe’s manager replacing Alan Pardew from 3-1 to evens, then to 4/6 odds on and later to 8/13 odds on.
The company have now suspended the betting after getting two more requests.
The first was a £1,500 bet on Adkins at 8/13 on, and the second was from a punter wanting to bet a whopping £5,000 at 4/9.

Adkins would be a good choice, but not much of a WOW, to be honest. Still, it's not over until Nicola unveils the new boss - and let's all hope it's not that Skate fcukwit Paul Hart waiting in the wings to give us a WOW factor as in WHY OH WHY?????

His choice will go a long way towards deciding if he is really dedicated to our cause, or if he is thinking of his own position of power.

Let's not go down the route of slagging off NC. For goodness sakes people. We are Southampton. League One. We are not Man Utd.
We have to believe that NC wants what is best for the club. A knee jerk manager would have been the worst thing. He has interviewed loads of candidates and will then decide who is best for the club.
I won't tolerate idiots who boo or say NC is the unmentionable RL.

I think a lot of the most interesting things of late have been what has not been said. MoN hasn't commented, Pardew hasn't commented, NC hasn't commented, so who knows why things happened and what might happen going forward.

Cortese continues to be enthusiastic and aggressive about getting us promoted. SHUT UP and get behind the team....
It sounds as if there were plenty of good reasons for getting shot of Pards (I actually liked AP) but Cortese is a measured man and is built to achieve!!... Whomever he appoints, I am confident that it will have been done on a sensible and thorough manner.
DONT Forget who got Markus to save us in the first place!!... let alone who sanctioned the procurement of mr Lambert et all!!....

I think we'd be lucky to Adkins, or Brown, or anyone really - we're League 1, with EXTREMELY horrible fans that can't be appreciative of anything. If I were a manager I'd give Saints a wide berth because of all the over-inflated, deluded, awful supporters that complain about every single thing.

Cortese wants what is best for this club going foward, the sacking of Pardew if what we here is true, HAD to happen.
Moving on to the new chapter, the O'Neil dream is never going to happen. I think we now have two strong candidates in Adkins and Brown both have good coaching/motivating backgrounds which is what we need to get the players minds back on the job in hand.
Come on NC get the position filled so that we can go to Swindon and get the season started!
