A SERIAL offender was on licence from prison when he broke into two Southampton pubs using a screwdriver.

Jason Geddes, 33, made so much noise in The Inferno in Bevois Valley Road that he disturbed the licensee who came downstairs to investigate.

Geddes fled empty handed but then entered The Hobbit where he raided the fruit machine. Again he had to flee, dropping a rucksack on his way, and was arrested shortly afterwards, said prosecutor Gary Venturi.

Geddes, of Forster Road, Southampton, admitted two burglaries and asked for three others to be considered. He was jailed for eight months.
