FOLLOWING on a seemingly long winter signs of spring are very welcome, and with them comes news from Test Valley in Bloom of plans for 2011 Gardeners’ Market and their annual Garden Competition.
The ever popular Gardeners’ Market, now in its sixth year, will take place in Andover High Street on Sunday 8 May between 10am and 2pm, with a very interesting mix of trade stands, of particular interest to all who have gardens and including some stands attending for the first time. In addition there will be a range of craft stalls and charity stalls, the latter including a display by Andover Rotary, based on the Shelterbox Charity – an opportunity to go along to see for yourself why they are so welcome in areas of devastation. Andover Town Band will be playing in the Time Ring between 10am and 12pm to entertain those present, and Topper and Friends (including Stan, the 1939 Standard Flying Eight) will be there to meet you. The aim is to encourage entry into the annual competition. Entry forms will be available at Test Valley Borough Council offices, at libraries and Tourist Information Centres and at many garden centres through Test Valley.
