Fundraising cyclists say a big thank you THOSE involved in a charity cycle ride gathered with their supporters to say thanks.
Three cyclists – Cllr Andrew Gibson, Darren Stiles and Chris Reilly – are planning to pedal their way from John O’ Groats to Land’s End from Easter Monday to Thursday.
They want to raise between £5,000 to £6,000 for Andover Young Carers.
And last week the charity gathered those who are supporting the cycle ride to thank them for their help.
Manager Lorena Burlison, who will drive the minibus and provide support and first aid to the cyclists, said: “These people have supported us through the accommodation, the fuel, the food, which means we can go ahead with the event in the first place and that 100 per cent of the donations we get through from individuals that money goes towards the children, the young carers.
“These are the supporters who have backed us throughout the years and a lot of new supporters too.”
The organisations which have helped the cyclists include Andover Towbars, TG Angencies, the Station Hotel, and the Andover Advertiser and Andover Sound.
Other groups and companies thanked were Stannah, Just Bikes, Andover Rotary Club, Anton Masonic Lodge, Utopia and Simplyhealth.
The team behind the cyclists includes Lorena, Gina Holton, who will photograph and video the event as well as provide first aid, John Middleditch, who is in charge of the check points and will drive the minibus and nutritionist Jacqui Milton, who is support minibus driver.
