IT is known as the silent killer and each year 6,500 women are diagnosed with the disease across the UK.
Now teenage sisters Lydia and Isobelle Cooper are organising a charity ball with the help of their mum Rebecca and nan Daphne to raise awareness of ovarian cancer after their aunty Tina Gibbs died of the condition aged just 45.
The girls aged 17 and 14 have organised a glitzy black-tie event at the Botley Masonic Lodge tomorrow evening from 7pm.
The glamorous event will feature a sit down three-course dinner, a DJ, music from band Concept as well as a raffle with prizes including designer dresses and a TV.
All proceeds will go to the Countess Mountbatten hospice who supported the girls’ aunty in her last days.
Tickets, which cost £25 are still available. Contact lydianicolecooper@yahoo.co.uk
