Leave a tribute to Julia

A BRAVE and inspirational mother who helped dozens of women suffering from breast cancer, has died of the disease.

Julia Dingwall co-founded Basingstoke charity The Pink Place which offered counselling and pampering treatments to women with breast cancer.

The 46-year-old, who battled cancer since 2007, passed away at St Michael’s Hospice last Tuesday.

The funeral of the popular mum will take place tomorrow at Basingstoke Crematorium at 11am, and her family are inviting anyone who wishes to attend to do so.

See Monday’s Gazette to read more about Julia and her lasting legacy.

An inspiration to us all at The Pink Place, a very special friend to me and a wonderful wife and Mum who will be very much missed. The Pink Place would not exist for the ladies of Basingstoke without your courage and inspirational leadership and you will continue to inspire us to keep up the good work and carry on developing the Pink Place to make a difference x

I only met you once when I brought you the artwork for the Pink Place Christmas card which was a privilege to be asked to do. I hope I can continue doing artwork for the charity in your memory. Rest in peace and may you be surrounded in golden light and loving kindness - my heartfelt condolences to the family.

One day we will have your wish granted - a Pink Place in every town/city, so sad you cannot continue with us to realise that...but I and the rest of the fundraising team and all the other volunteers will make it a reality in your memory

Julia you will be remembered fondly and your powerful strength and determination in everything you did has already been reflected in the success of The Pink Place in such a short time since its start. We will all miss you but will move to continue the work you started and lets get those premises you so longed for. Deepest condolences to your family.

Julia I just wanted to say how amazing and wonderful you are x I truly believe you are the most courageous and inspirational person I have ever met and I feel so honoured to have spent time with you. The Pink Place will continue to blossom and no one will ever forget the strength and support you have given to so many women who are going through this fight. I think we are all the more determined to help create a world free from breast cancer - where would that determination come from if it wasn't for wonderful crusaders like you x All our love to Martin and your two lovely boys, thinking of you all so much x

i've known Julia a long time now and she always thought of others ahead of herself, she always made light of her own illness, which made it all the more difficult to come to terms with when she went into decline. We all miss her she was a lovely person
