RESIDENTS on the mainly military Australian and Jubilee Estates in Perham Down, near Tidworth, are hoping their early Diamond Jubilee celebrations will kick-start greater community spirit in the area.
Organisers of the fun event say there is a need for it, particularly for young people.
Resident Lisa Laing said: “We are trying to raise money for a teenager area as there have been some problems with them hanging around residential areas.
“We are all aware of the problems for serving soldiers but what are we doing to help the children of serving soldiers who also move around? We are trying to build community spirit and this event will help to raise our profile.”
