Road flooding in north Hampshire

THE A33 remains closed in both directions from Crockford Lane to the Tesco Roundabout in Chineham.

Highways chiefs say roads which are flooded, but passable with care, are: Milkingpen Lane in Old Basing at the railway bridge; Oakley Lane at the railway bridge; Wade Road in Basingstoke near the recycling centre entrance; A339 at Poynings Crescent, near the Venture Roundabout.

Temporary traffic lights have been in operation at Pithall Farm on the A339 to Newbury.

Every time there is a bit of rain the Pithall Farm section ends up with standing water, the drainage is non-existent. With the traffic lights on the bridge at Headley it was a grim old drive today. Come on HCC, let's get some work done here!
