10:49am Tuesday 17th July 2012 in News
A MAN was walking at an Andover beauty spot with his two young children when he was robbed.
The 25-year-old victim was walking at Charlton Lakes between 12.30pm and 12.45pm on Saturday, 7 July when three men approached him and stole his green rucksack.
The bag is described as a light green Berghaus daysack, which held a black leather wallet containing bank cards, a driving licence and about £350 in cash, a Samsung laptop valued at about £400, a Sony video camera valued at about £200 and various items, such as nappies, for the children.
The main offender is described as white, aged about 25, approximately 6ft and of stocky build. He had medium length blond hair with a fringe covering one of his eyes, a spotty complexion and stubble. He was wearing a bright red hooded top with 'NO FEAR' written on the front and blue jeans with a rip at the knee area and was riding a BMX type bike.
Pc Andrew White said: “I would like to speak with anybody who may have any information in relation to this incident.
“Were you in the area at the time of the incident? Have you found any of the stolen items discarded in the area or have you been offered any of them for sale?
“Fortunately this is a rare crime at this location but as always I would urge members of the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.”
Anyone with any information should contact Pc White at Andover police station on 101 or 0845 045 4545, from outside Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
