Safety campaign
A CAMPAIGN urging Hampshire drivers to slow down past road works has been launched featuring family members.
Hampshire Constabulary and Hampshire County Council have joined forces to support the safety drive, called My Family Works Here.
It has been developed by Amey, Hampshire County Council’s highways maintenance partner, and it is hoped that pictures of staff with their family members will make motorists more aware of the hazards workers face.
They show Amey staff with family members and slogans such as “SLOW DOWN! Kill your speed not our daddy” and “SLOW DOWN! My wife works here”.
Simon Jukes, Amey account director in Hampshire, said: “The highest risk for Amey’s Hampshire workforce is from traffic passing our sites without due care.”
