Town to get first sex shop

TEST Valley Borough Council has granted permission for a sex shop in Andover.

Erotica Belle will become the only sex shop in the borough and be situated at The Broadway between Suffolk Road and Western Road.

Despite the concerns of the council, owner Mr Jonathan Spencer reassured them of his shop’s impact, likening it to national chain Ann Summers.

Speaking at the licensing committee meeting Mr Spencer said: “We look to make a positive impact in the area and are very careful with our window displays, everyone will be able to walk past without fear or intimidation.”

Councillor Tony Hope, chairman of the licensing committee, announced the decision and confirmed the shop’s opening times. He said “We welcome you to the town Mr Spencer.”
