WILTSHIRE police say the sudden death of a man in a car fire on a track near Somme Road between Ludgersghall and Perham Down is not being treated as suspicious.
The Ludgershall fire crew made the grisly discovery of a body inside the as yet unidentified car when they were called to tackle a routine car fire at 2.55pm on Friday.
Two breathing apparatus and one hose reel was used to tackle the fierce blaze.
Fire investigators assisted police scenes of crime officers called in to investigate the incident.
The body is believed to be that of man in his 50s belonging to a well-known local family in the Tidworth area.
Wiltshire coroner’s office say they were notified of the matter on Tuesday and aim to open an inquest into the death shortly.
