Memorial poll results
12:00am Saturday 15th September 2012 in News
A POLL on the Andover Advertiser website asked readers their opinions about the possibility of returning the Great War memorial to its original position in Andover High Street.
The poll attracted significant interest, and showed 57 per cent agreed with the move while 43 per cent were opposed.
However we unearthed a significant number of cases in which a small number of people voted more than once.
In one case one person in favour of the change voted 100 times while another person, of the opposing opinion, voted 84 times.
However, the result, after discounting the multiple voters, showed the same result, with a 57-43 per cent split in favour.
Such polls of course may not be statistically representative of the whole population even though hundreds of people voted.

What were the 43% who opposed it thinking?
