THE weekend’s Wherwell Sports Fete and Dog Show had a little something for those with two legs as well as their four-legged friends.

This year saw a number of sporting activities for children, including a space hopper race and a tug-of-war, as well as the Doglympics, which saw dog owners pit their pets against one another.

There was also live music from the New Antonians Swing Band.

After the fete in the day time the field hosted a Last Night of the Proms event.

The day raised about £3,000 and the evening’s event made a further £4,000.

Sean Hutton, chairman of Wherwell Playing Fields, said: “The weather was absolutely amazing.

“We all had a great time, and some people even drove into Andover to get more money.”
