Cash boost for Whitchurch Millennium Meadow
5:00pm Monday 17th September 2012 in News By Emily Roberts, Chief Reporter
A GRANT of £1,200 was given to Whitchurch Millennium Meadow to pay for maintenance work.
Whitchurch Town Council agreed to give the funds to the project after Councillor Dave Titcomb explained how it will be used.
He said the objectives of the meadow, in Winchester Street, are to act as a space for all ages to use.
Explaining that the paths need to be maintained, nettles removed and low branches cut, he said: “We want to create a natural environment to allow families to enjoy picnics, children to play ball games, dog walkers to walk dogs and for people to sit and enjoy the meadow.”
