Thousands of pounds worth of jewellery stolen

JEWELLERY worth £25,000 was stolen from a home in Andover.

At some time between 1.15pm and 1.45pm on Friday, 14 September a burglary occurred at an address in Leicester Place.

Offenders stole gold forehead pieces, five earring and necklace sets, four gold bangles, two men’s rings, three women’s rings and an Armani watch.

Officers would like to speak to a woman wearing a black hijab and black clothing, approximately 5ft 1in, aged in her 30s to 40s, of Asian or Turkish appearance and carrying flowers.

The second person is described as male, around 5ft 10ins, of medium build, of Mediterranean or Turkish appearance and wearing a denim jacket and a blue cap.

Det Con Rob Harrington said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have seen the people matching the descriptions in the Suffolk Road or Leicester Place areas on September 14 to come forward and speak to us.

“We are especially keen to trace the lady seen carrying flowers wearing a black hijab. A lady carrying flowers wearing a black hijab was also seen at the scene of a related burglary on Moneyer Road, Andover, on August 30.

“I would urge anyone with any information to contact us as soon as possible. Every piece of information helps and will be treated in confidence.”

Anyone with any information should contact Det Con Harrington at Andover CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
