THE first Winchester Walk for the Homeless attracted some 70 people and is looking to raise around £4,000.

The event was organised by Trinity Centre and a fifth of the proceeds will go to the Winchester Churches Nightshelter on Jewry Street.

It started and finished at Abbey Gardens on Sunday September 16.

Meanwhile the deadline is looming to take part in the Clarendon Way Marathon from Salisbury to Kings’ School, Winchester, on Sunday October 7.

Trinity Winchester has secured guaranteed places for two runners wishing to take part in support of Trinity and rise to the added challenge of raising £500 in sponsorship.

If you are interested and would like to hear what Trinity can offer you in return, contact Sophie Davies on 01962 842827 or at sophie@trinitywinchester.org.uk .

The registration deadline is September 29 and demand is likely to be high.
