Vulnerable woman targeted in Eastrop subway, Basingstoke

Detectives in Basingstoke are appealing for a couple who may have witnessed an attempted robbery to come forward.
The incident happened between 7pm and 7.30pm on Tuesday, September 25.
A 45-year-old woman who is described as “vulnerable”, was walking along one of the subways near to Basing View, under Eastrop Roundabout, when she noticed a man behind her.
The man asked the woman for money and behaved in a threatening manner. Fortunately the woman was not injured, but was extremely shaken by the incident.
Detective Constable Neal Williams said: “There may have been a man and a woman in the area at the time who may have seen what happened.
“I am keen to speak to them as soon as possible as they may have information that could assist this investigation.”
