Police give crime advice after car-key burglary
5:20pm Monday 8th October 2012 in News By Chris Gregory
VAN keys and a laptop were stolen during a burglary in Tadley.
The theft took place between 12.30am and 6.30am on Tuesday, October 2, at a house in Herriard Way.
Someone used a tool through a letter box to open the front door and once inside, took keys to a van and a laptop.
PC Lee Stanbrook, of Basingstoke police station, appealed for witnesses to come forward.
He added: “Doors should be locked from the inside using the key and the key removed. Everyone in the house should know where the key is kept, in case of an emergency.
“Car keys shouldn’t be left on display and we encourage people to take them upstairs when they go to bed.”
Anyone with information can contact PC Stanbrook at Basingstoke police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
