Games volunteers help out
A CHARITY turned heads by inviting volunteers from this year’s Olympic Games to help it fundraise.
Andover’s branch of the MS Society held a nearly new sale in the town centre last Saturday.
And charity volunteers were joined by torch-bearer Mike Dunham, London ambassador Doris Cook, Games maker Ali Renshaw and Paralympic Games maker Paul West.
Passers-by stopped to have their photos taken with the special guests and to donate to the good cause, with the charity raising £350.
Fundraiser Ingrid Allso said: “It was a really good atmosphere and we made a lot of money.
“The idea really was as there are so many of these charity stalls, it was trying to get people to notice us.”
The Andover MS Society holds two stalls in the town centre each year and it is hoped that each one will be on a different theme.
