Market's fruity treats
12:00am Sunday 21st October 2012 in News
ANDOVER’S Hampshire Farmers’ Market will be filled with fabulous fruity treats this Sunday to celebrate National Apple Day.
Helping to keep the doctor away will be Blackmoor Farm Shop, with its selection of well-known and not so wellknown apple varieties, alongside beautiful bottled apple juice and sensational cider.
This Sunday also marks the last day of National Baking Week so there will be eggs in abundance along with jams and seasonal fruits for cake and pie fillings and meat for home-baked sausage rolls.
Sopley Salads, a new addition to the Andover market, will be offering a wonderful selection of salads and vegetables.
The market, which runs from 10am to 2pm, is held in the pedestrianised area of the High Street and hosts the tastiest treats from top local suppliers.
Councillor Ian Carr, leader of Test Valley Borough Council, said: “The farmers’ market is a great opportunity to celebrate National Apple Day and sample some of the best fruit Hampshire has to offer.
“It is always outstanding to see the range and quality of food from across the county.
“It is so important that we help support local suppliers as they are key to helping maintain and develop a competitive local economy.”
