SIX candidates are to stand for the £85,000-a-year post of Hampshire Police and Crime Commissioner. 

The elections to the new post will take place on November 15 and the successful candidate will take up office on November 22.

Whoever is chosen as part of the nationwide series of elections, will oversee policing in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

The official list after the close of nominations last Friday, is as follows:

  • David Ian Goodall, of West End, Southampton. Liberal Democrat.
  • Simon Alexander Hayes, of "Winchester Bishops Waltham Division". Independent.
  • Don Jerrard, of "Petersfield Hangers Division". The Justice and Anti-Corruption Party
  • Michael Mates, of "Winchester Eastgate Division". Conservative Party.
  • Jacqui Rayment of Shirley, Southampton. Labour Party.
  • Stephen Michael West, of Silchester Road, Tadley. UKIP
