BIRTHDAY celebrations took place at Ashbourne Court Care Centre on 22 October for residents Elizabeth Ovenden and Flo Parry.

Elizabeth celebrated her 101st and Flo her 100th birthday as they enjoyed their party in the company of friends and family.

Born in Aberdeen, Elizabeth moved to Kent, where she lived and worked before marrying her husband Harold in 1938.

Flo is originally from the East End of London and also moved to Kent before returning to the capital during the Second World War.

With her husband Charles she later moved to Market Harborough in Leicestershire before later retiring to Fordingbridge in Hampshire.

Pupils from Balksbury School performed their harvest songs and sang happy birthday before singer Andy Martin provided further entertainment.

Test Valley mayor Cllr Dorothy Baverstock was also in attendance.
