Burglary at town centre restaurant
2:51pm Monday 21st January 2013 in Andover
THOUSANDS of pounds have been stolen from a restaurant in Andover.
The Dragon Garden, in Bridge Street, was burgled between 11.30pm last Thursday (17) and 10.30am on Friday. (18)
Entry was forced at the back of the restaurant and a safe, a money box and a till were taken. The safe and the money box each contained £3,000 and the till contained £100.
Pc Ben Lee said: “The offenders made off with more than £6,000 in cash, as well as a black safe, a grey money box and a grey till.
"I am appealing to the community to help me identify those responsible. “There is a large time gap in which this burglary could have happened so I am seeking to narrow down the time when the offence may have occurred.
“Did you see anything or anyone suspicious around the rear of the building between 11.30pm on Thursday and 10.30am on Friday?
“I would urge anyone with any information, no matter how small, to contact us at the earliest opportunity."
Anyone with any information should contact Pc Lee at Andover police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
