He was stood holding an umbrella when the offender approached him from the direction of Lidl and asked him what he was looking at. The offender then head butted the victim and made off in direction of the Lloyds TSB building.
The victim was left with a large lump on his forehead following the attack. The man police want to speak to is described as large build, white aged 20 to 24 and around 5ft 10ins tall. He has cropped hair, a slim face with a large nose and at the time of the incident he was wearing a light coloured hooded tracksuit top which was zipped at the front Police spokesman Graham Hamilton, said: “This was a nasty and unprovoked assault on a young man who was stood chatting to his girlfriend. “The area was quiet at the time of the attack but there may have been witnesses who saw what happened or saw the offender in the area prior to or after the incident. “It is possible the same man had been abusing passers by outside Lidl a few minutes prior to the assault. “Did you see this man? “I would urge anyone with any information to contact us as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should contact Graham Hamilton at Andover police station on 101.
