Fire in Ibthorpe

ONE hundred firefighters attended a blaze in Ibthorpe, near Andover.

The emergency services were called at 7pm on Thursday (21) to a two-storey thatched home.

Crews – who stayed at the scene for seven hours - attended from Andover, Whitchurch, Newbury, Sutton Scotney, Overton, Ludgershall, Stockbridge, Winchester, Amesbury, Eastleigh and Pewsey.

The building, which is 18m by 14m, was 100 per cent damaged by smoke and water, while 50 per cent of the roof was severely damaged by fire.
