THE Michaelmas Fair makes a welcome return to the Weyhill Fairground on 26 and 27 September after a hugely successful event last year.
The fair dates back to Saxon times and was revived last year when over 6,500 people enjoyed the vintage pleasure fair, craft demonstrations, morris dancing and traction engines.
This year organisers hope to raise plenty of cash for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
Last year it raised over £2,000 for Naomi House Children’s Hospice, and organisers (local community and volunteers from the Craft and Design Centre) are hoping to exceed that amount.
The weekend fair will be full of great attractions including a children’s farm, folk singers, circus performers and traditional fairground rides.
Along with all that, the unit holders at the craft centre will be dressed in costume, all helping to create an authentic experience of a bygone age.
Volunteers are still needed to help out at the fair on both days and if anyone would like to help or book a stall call Simon on 01264 773438.
