CHICKENS had a lucky escape when fire broke out in a paddock they were kept in at Houghton.
A Stockbridge-based fire crew put out the blaze in the village’s Main Road. No birds were injured in the incident and the cause of Sunday afternoon’s blaze is not known, said a Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesman.
