POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an off road accident near Tidworth which caused a 48-year-old man from Chipping Norton to receive fatal injuries.
Ray Kempster, who was taking part in the Motor Sports Association event in a Milner R4 at Sidbury Hill on Saturday, died of his injuries in Salisbury District Hospital on Monday. (15/3) PC Penny of the serious collision investigation team based at Chippenham wants any spectators who saw what happened to contact him on 0845 408 7000.
Mr Kempster was a well-known off-road driver with more than 20 years' experience of such events. The area where the annual event is held includes some steep sections and it is believed that the vehicle involved flipped over and rolled several times. The Health and Safety Executive is expected to be closely involved in the investigation into the accident.
