A CAMPAIGN is calling on councillors to reject plans for 50 new homes on Andover playing fields.
Residents of Roman Way and Swallowfields are urging Test Valley Borough Council to reject plans for houses at the rear of the former Shepherds Spring Junior School.
The plans, drawn up by Hampshire County Council, are for 50 new homes on the school playing fields with access between the former school buildings, which are currently used as an education centre and a children’s centre.
Many residents have submitted written objections, listing concerns over landscaping, noise, loss of a greenfield site, poor access and traffic congestion as reasons for refusal.
Andover Town Council also objected to the proposal when it met at a planning meeting last month.
A petition of more than 150 names opposing the development has also been delivered to the borough council.
