A GANG left a man with facial injuries and a broken finger after a daylight attack in Basingstoke.
The assault on the 30-year-old man took place at around 10.20am on Monday, March 15, in Chaucer Close, Popley.
A gang of three men wearing dark clothing set upon the victim in what police believe was a targeted attack.
The man needed treatment at Basingstoke hospital for his injuries, which included cuts to his head.
Detective Constable Katie Barry, of Basingstoke CID, said: “We do not believe it was a random attack and we want to hear from anyone who witnessed it or saw three men in the area acting suspiciously.
“This kind of behaviour is unacceptable and we would ask anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to contact us as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information can contact Det Con Barry at Basingstoke police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
* Four men and a 17-year-old boy from Basingstoke have been arrested and bailed in connection with this incident.
