THOUSANDS of people looking after sick or disabled relatives at home in Winchester may be missing out on vital support that might help them to juggle work and care or just make life easier.

They can find out more by attending a special Carers Rights Day Information Event organised by The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, Winchester Carer Centre, on Friday, December 7, at The Winchester Centre, 68 St George's Street, Winchester between 10am and 3pm.

Organisations such as the Citizens' Advice Bureau, The Pension Service and The Patient Advice and Liaison Service will be on hand to offer advice and information and there will also be an informal Christmas buffet lunch.

Kerry Wincott, chief executive of the Winchester & Andover Carer Centre said: "Anyone who looks after a sick or disabled person on an unpaid basis is a carer and may be able to get help. They would be very welcome to come along to our Carers Rights Day Information Event to get information, advice or just to have a friendly chat."
