A TEENAGE cyclist sustained life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a car in Eastleigh last night.
The incident happened at 7pm on the southbound carriageway of Woodside Avenue, directly opposite Halfords and Comet.
Police said a silver coloured Ford Galaxy was in collision with a 17 year-old male, who was taken to Southampton General Hospital with life threatening injuries, but is now said to be stable.
The road was closed for three hours to allow police to carry out a thorough investigation and the driver of the Galaxy is assisting police with their enquiries.
Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident, and they are particularly looking for the drivers of two cars that were directly behind the Galaxy when the collision occurred.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Totton Roads Policing Unit on 0845 045 45 45.
